4 Biggest Moments From This Week's Episode of 'The Bachelorette'
It's been a busy week for the guys and gorgeous Hannah Brown, complete with rugby matches (including a Luke-themed fight!), some surprising sparks and Halo Top sponcon. Season 15 of The Bachelorette has had some intense moments and this most recent episode did not disappoint, as The Ringer has highlighted.
1. The Battle of the Lukes
There's an old saying that goes something like, if you want to know who a person is, watch them at the dinner table and/or on the sports field. So in the spirit of character assessment, this last episode of The Bachelorette featured a rugby game. The game was actually pretty exciting and took place in an abandoned fort. So far, so good. Except that Luke P. decided he needed to show off how much stronger he was than everyone else, and his opportunity came when Luke S. "allegedly" charged at him. Luke P. lifted Luke S. and body-slammed him into the ground.
Luke P. claimed "self-defense" but no one fell for it. This didn't really slow Luke P. down and he continued defending himself and went on to say that Luke S. is only on the show to push his new tequila brand. This put Hannah in the awkward position of calling them both over to explain themselves.
The real worry is that Hannah said at one point during the episode that she has stronger feelings for Luke P. than for any other guy there. Uh oh.
2. The Horror That Was Garrett's Kiss
Kissing is obviously a big part of The Bachelorette. How else can you quickly tell if you feel a connection with someone? And even though we couldn't feel it, it was pretty darn obvious that there was no connection happening between Hannah and Garrett because Garrett kisses like a shy koala bear.
Garrett then decided the best conclusion to this session of mouth-pecking was a wholesome kiss on Emily's forehead. Um...okay?
3. Tyler C. Surprised Everyone by Taking the Lead
Hannah was pretty bummed out after the Luke situation. Tyler C. had the next one-on-one date and made her feel all better. Basically the world fell in love with him on the spot and we did not see it coming.
In fact, everyone seems blown away by Tyler C. Where did he come from? Are you seeing this, Hannah?
4. Halo Top Sponcon
Sponcon happens. It's fine. But the problem occurs when it's artificially wedged into an episode. For instance, Hannah's idea to have ice cream in the park on her date with Jed in Boston. That's all nice and good except that the episode was shot on March 28 and everyone was wearing jackets. Not exactly a logical request.
Hannah and Jed walked into a park and met a Halo-Top guy who hands them pints from a Halo Top-themed cooler. It was super awkward because who wants to eat ice cream outside when it's cold? Sorry, Halo Top. We are not exactly buying it.
It's always exciting to see each episode of The Bachelorette progress. The Luke P.s of the world show their true colors and the Tyler C.'s finally get a chance to shine.
