Below is a list of 48 of the shortest-lived celebrity marriages, from the infamous relationship between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, to some we may have forgotten all about, like Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds.

1. Jean Acker and Rudolph Valentino

This marital rupture goes way back. In 1919, silent film actress Jean Acker married struggling actor Rudolph Valentino. According to PopSugar, Acker was a lesbian and thought a heterosexual marriage would save her reputation. However, Acker locked Valentino out of their hotel room after the wedding reception and never consummated the marriage, which lasted a grand total of six hours.

2. Zsa Zsa Gabor and Felipe de Alba

Long before Kim Kardashian and Britney Spears made short marriages chic, actress Zsa Zsa Gabor showed us how it was done. According to BuzzFeed News, Gabor married Felipe de Alba, a Mexican actor and attorney in 1982. The marriage didn't even last a day.

3. Britney Spears and Jason Alexander

The infamous Britney Spears and Jason Alexander marriage, which took place in 2004 according to Glamour, lasted 55 hours. The two tied the knot in Las Vegas and the marriage was annulled shortly after.

Sinead O'Conner married a drug counselor, Barry Herridge, in Las Vegas, after she asked men to come forward after claiming she was unlucky in love. The Guns N' Roses singer wed model Erin Everly, who starred in their music video "Sweet Child of Mine," in 1990. They got married in Las Vegas at Cupid's Wedding Chapel and, according to Rocks Off Mag, Axl wanted an annulment within 48 hours. Erin was pregnant and four months after the marriage, sadly had a miscarriage due to stress.

Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine got married and honeymooned in Europe. According to The Telegraph, Borgnine was recognized by people in Europe while Merman wasn't and it made her angry. This caused a rupture that led to their marriage ending in 32 days.
