5 Facts About Rihanna You Didn't Know

Rihanna is a jack of all trades. She does everything from acting in movies like "Ocean's 8", starting fashion and makeup brands Fenty x Puma, doing things for charities, and oh yeah being one of the best pop stars in the world. So to help celebrate Ri Ri's birthday, here is a list of five things that you might not know about her.

1. Rihanna has military expereince

She was an army cadet in a sub-military program in her native country of Barbados, and even had singer-songwriter Shontelle as her drill sergeant. “That’s what drill sergeants do. We boss cadets around, we make them do push-ups . . . especially when they show up on the parade square late,” Shontelle told the BBC in 2009. “We were both in cadets together—it wasn’t compulsory or anything. But picture me and Rihanna in combat boots and fatigues crawling through mud and things like that.”

2. When she was just 15, Rihanna won her high school's beauty pageant

Apparently she was dared to be in it by her friends. She performed Mariah Carey's "Hero" and she used her military training to help her balance a book on her head during the cat walk.

3. Rihanna helped Prince Harry promote World AIDS Day by getting tested

Rihanna and Prince Harry each got their fingers pricked and tested for HIV at drop-in center for World AIDS Day in Barbados. The pair came out to promote being tested for the disease. They also came together for Barbados' 50th anniversary of independence.

4. Rihanna has seen an exorcism

In an interview with JoJo, the pop star revealed she'd seen an exorcism in her church in Barbados. When asked about it, she said she'd seen it happen a couple of times. "We would go to church and sometimes it would happen in church … In the middle of a ceremony, somebody would just get up screaming and spinning out of control … It's really like … you can't control it, night and day … They'd speak in a different voice."

5. Rihanna has 25 tattoos

Starting her obsession with getting inked was a tattoo of a musical note on her foot. Then came her tattoo of Isis, the Egyptian goddess, on her chest. She also has 1988 on her right ankle, a cross on her collarbone, and "rebelle fleur" on the left side of her neck.
