A 'Stranger Things' Fair is Taking Over the Santa Monica Pier Ahead of Season 3
By Ryan Carroll
With Stranger Things Season 3 premiering this July 4, the show’s creators have begun to pull out all the stops in anticipation of its release. Between the retro New Coke cans and promotional shoes, there’ll be a lot of Stranger Things to go around--and that will get just a bit bigger next weekend, when a themed fair will take over the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the fair will pop in Pacific Park on the Santa Monica pier on June 29 and 30. There, visitors will be able to enjoy performances of '80s cover music, eating contests, and Stranger Things-themed attractions including a Scoops Ahoy ice cream truck and the Hawkins Bike Shop, where fans may be able to win Max’s BMX bike.
Additionally, the fair will feature the Curiosity House, which offers a “Stranger-fied fun house experience.” What this means isn’t exactly clear, but we imagine that it’ll have some spooky and supernatural sights.
The fair’s announcement comes, appropriately, 11 days before the premiere of Season 3. For those fans who do not live near Los Angeles, the fair will also be travelling to Coney Island in New York over the 4th of July weekend, when the show premieres, according to NBC Los Angeles.
As for us, we’re jealous of anyone who will get to go to this awesome exhibition--and to make up for it, we’ll be eagerly watching Stranger Things Season 3 when it premieres on Netflix.
