Things got a bit awkward on Good Morning Britain today, and fans watching at home certainly took notice.

The weirdness all went down when Ade Edmondson got noticeably annoyed with presenters Ranvir Singh and Ben Shephard. The comedian appeared on the morning talk show to discuss his new musical, and even excited audiences when he teased a possible return to EastEnders.

But things took a turn when the conversation became about Rik Mayall, the late comedian with whom Ade often collaborated. The presenters seemingly randomly inquire about Rik in the interview below, to which Ade is visibly over the conversation.

"All I get is people like you bringing him up. We haven’t worked together since 2003. He died five years ago and we haven’t worked since then," Ade bluntly states, adding, "I don’t know what people want me to say about him. He’s dead, and I do miss him, and he’s dead." Ranvir and Ben are quick to laugh off the awkwardness, but people at home had a field day with the cringeworthy moment.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the interview. "Asking @AdrianEdmondson if he misses his best mate.....journalist never fail to amaze me! Of course he misses his best mate. Jesus!," one wrote, while another said, "Bit uncomfortable the way he’s talking about rick mayal [sic] was there any need to say he is dead so many times #GMB."

Hopefully interviewers will now know in the future not to bring the late comedian up around Ade any longer!
