All the Emmy Awards 'Game of Thrones' Has Won for Season 8 So Far
Despite its very divisive ending, Game of Thrones is already racking up Emmy awards for its final season.
The Primetime Emmys are slated for this upcoming Sunday, Sept. 22, but during the first round of awards at the Creative Arts Emmys, the HBO series took home an impressive 10 awards. The event took place over this past weekend at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
According to Deadline, here is a full list of the Emmy awards Game of Thrones has scored Season 8 so far:
- Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama series
- Outstanding Special Visual Effects
- Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes
- Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series
- Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited Series or Movie
- Outstanding Main Title Design
- Outstanding Music Composition for a Series
- Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series
- Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series
- Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series
It's important to note that all of these awards are for production, which fans never seemed to have an issue with. Thrones has been nominated for 32 Emmys in total, which is the most any show received this year. Chernobyl is close behind with 27 noms. Actors Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) are both nominated for Lead Actor and Lead Actress, respectively, in a drama series. Additionally, Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), among others, are also nominated for their supporting roles.
