Amy Adams Doesn't Know if She'll Play Lois Lane Again

Fans of the DC Extended Universe who cherish Amy Adams’ Lois Lane have undergone a lot of mixed emotions over the past few weeks. As it turns out, the 44-year-old actress truly just doesn’t know her future as Superman’s significant other.

Earlier this month, Adams sat down with Aquaman star Nicole Kidman for an episode of Variety’s Actors on Actors and revealed that her time in the DC Extended Universe is over.

"I think I’m out of the DC Universe now,” Adams said. “I think they’re revamping that. I don’t know the details."

Although Adams admitted that she didn’t even know all the details, fans took her claim seriously. But in a more recent interview, Adams clarified that her future in the DCEU is unclear.

"You know what’s funny? I actually don’t know," said Adams. "I haven’t had any official conversation with anybody. I was just talking with Nicole Kidman about it, and I was like, ‘Oh, I guess I’ve got to be careful what I say!’ But yeah, I haven’t had any word officially."

It turns out all the fuss was over mere speculation on Adams’ part.

This isn’t the first time that rumors arose surrounding the departure of a major DCEU actor. Reports of contract trouble between Warner Bros. and Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, caused fans to think that DC was done with the 35-year-old actor.

"While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged," a Warner Bros. spokesperson said of the speculation.

We'll just have to wait and see if Cavill and Adams return to their respective roles.
