The third film is currently in development for Marvel's Ant-Man series, and according to Digital Spy, director Peyton Reed is dropping hints about the plot. Reed directed both Ant-Man and its follow-up, Ant-Man and the Wasp, so fans are happy to see him return to helm the next installment.

The last film saw Scott Lang helping Hank Pym bring his wife back from the quantum realm, where she was trapped after shrinking to sub-atomic levels in many years prior. Exploration of the quantum realm was a big plot point in the movie, as it played a heavy role in Avengers: Endgame. As with all Marvel movies, the plot for the next Ant-Man movie is bound to be kept under wraps. However, Reed recently revealed that a character from Ant-Man and the Wasp could definitely return.

When asked if the actor Walton Goggins will be returning to the MCU, Reed replied, "There's always a chance." Goggins plays Sonny Burch, a criminal who appears in Ant-Man and the Wasp to steal Hank Pym's quantum technology to sell on the black market.

In one scene, Sonny meets with Hope Van Dyne to discuss her father's technology and says that he has buyers interested in Hank's work. However, the mystery of who these buyers are is never revealed, leaving a big question as to who is after the quantum technology. As Marvel fans saw in Avengers: Endgame, Pym particles are a conduit for time travel. It makes sense that someone would want to their hands on that kind of technology! There's no official release date for the next Ant-Man adventure, but we're excited to see which characters will return.
