Anti-LGBTQ+ Group One Million Moms Launches Protest Against Marvel's 'The Eternals' for Gay Kiss
There's a new movie protest gaining some momentum and this time, it's targeted at Marvel's upcoming film The Eternals. The reason for the unwarranted negative attention is because the movie will feature the first-ever gay kiss for the MCU, between actors Brian Tyree Henry and Haaz Sleiman, who play married couple.
The actual filming of the kiss was a remarkable moment for the entire cast and crew, so fans should be extra excited at its inclusion. As we previously reported, Sleiman dished to NewNowNext about the game-changing scene, explaining, "It’s a beautiful, very moving kiss. Everyone cried on set. For me, it’s very important to show how loving and beautiful a queer family can be."
However, not everyone is seeing this as a positive thing. As reported by ScreenGeek, there is an anti-LGBTQ+ group out there called One Million Moms (sigh), and they shared a call to boycott The Eternals because of the scene. "WARNING! An upcoming Marvel Studios movie will include a homosexual superhero and a same-sex kiss in the film The Eternals, set to hit theaters on November 6," their website reads.
The warning continues, "One Million Moms needs your help to make sure as many people as possible are aware of Marvel pushing the LGBTQ agenda on families in the upcoming superhero movie The Eternals, which will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios."
One Million Moms says that Marvel is, "attempting to desensitize our family by normalizing the LGBTQ lifestyle." In addition, the site has a "Take Action" section, gaining the support of over 14,000 people. Major yikes.
The Eternals will premiere in theaters on November 6, 2020, so make sure you go and show support for this LGBTQ+ inclusivity! Cheers to (hopefully) more scenes like this for the MCU in the future.
