Archie Apparently Died in 'Riverdale' Midseason Premiere and Fans Don't Believe it

*Spoilers Ahead.*
If you tuned in to watch Riverdale return to continue its third season last night with episode "Chapter Forty-Four: No Exit," chances are the ending completely shocked you. And if you didn't catch the episode, I'm so sorry if you logged onto Twitter only to see literally everyone talking about the major cliffhanger. Well, now we must discuss.
Did Archie die? Apparently, Riverdale wants us to think they just killed off the main character of both the CW series and the Archie Comics the show is based off of. The episode showed Archie attacked by a bear attack, with him then reporting the incident to the park rangers, and seemingly tending to his wounds pretty well. We didn't think he would die at all then. However, once he passes out, his dreams and/or hallucinations involve the Shadow Lake boys (who are dead), Warden Norton (who is dead), and then Veronica, Betty, and Jughead, seemingly in the past. Fast forward to the present in real life (we think), and Veronica and Reggie kiss?!
Archie is also shown- in his hallucinations- seemingly about to kill himself (or his former self). And by the time the park rangers come to his side, he looks pretty much gone. His eyes are wide open, he has blood all over him, and viewers at home watching all had the same reaction: Wtf?
But we don't think anyone actually believes Archie was killed off. Many took to Twitter after the episode aired to voice their feelings, and it looks like everyone is in the same boat. There's no way he's dead.
Many are just not buying it at all.
And one eagle-eyed fan even pointed out that KJ Apa has been spotted on set after they shot this episode, proving he's not done with the show.
Riverdale continues Jan. 23. Be ready for anything.
