It should not come as much of a surprise that Avengers: Endgame was wildly successful with its opening night sales, given the amount of hype from fans that the final installation of the Avengers series received leading up to its release.
However, the astronomical success reached by the film in its Thursday night opening alone exceeds the amount of success fans expected--and gives some of the most successful films in history a run for their money. The movie made $60 million in their North American box office run so far, with success records reaching $305 million globally. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is on a trajectory for a global launch of $950 million, beating out the previous record held by Avengers: Infinity War at $640.5 million.

It's an understatement to say that there has been a lot leading up to this moment. Through 11 years and 21 movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has certainly made a place for itself among the most successful film franchises of all time. We're sure the success won't stop here, even if we may not be seeing anything from the Russo brothers to expand on the comic book universe anytime soon.
