Bill Burr Confirms He Won't Be Returning for More of 'The Mandalorian'
Filming for season two of The Mandalorian has already wrapped, meaning that the Pedro Pascal-led series will be returning to Disney+ right on schedule this fall. The first season of the live action spin-off featured a star-studded lineup of guest appearances from actors like Ming-Na Wen, Amy Sedaris, Julia Jones, and Jason Sudeikis. The introductory season also featured a memorable cameo from comedian Bill Burr, who played an Imperial-sharpshooter-turned-mercenary named Mayfield.
Burr has been open in his mockery of the Star Wars franchise in the past, which The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau credits as being one of the reasons he offered the role to the comedian in the first place. Apparently Favreau thought Burr's past criticism of the franchise would make his casting that much more funny.
However, it looks like fan's won't be seeing Burr reprise his role as Mayfeld in season two. As reported by Cinema Blend, when asked if he would be returning to The Mandalorian, the comedian confirmed that he currently has no plans to come back. “No, none of that. Once these two things [King of Staten Island and F is for Family] come out on the same day, the well is dry. I got nothing. So we shall see," he said.
Even if Burr is absent, hopefully season two will feature a similar lineup of awesome guest stars. While you wait for Mando and Baby Yoda to grace your screen once more, check out what we know so far about season two of The Mandalorian here.
