'Black Widow' Set to Hit Theaters Early in the UK
The much anticipated superhero film Black Widow was initially due to premiere in the U.S. this month, but its release was unfortunately delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff, who is forced to confront demons from her past after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Black Widow also stars Academy Award nominated actress Florence Pugh, Oscar winner Rachel Weisz, everyone's favorite police chief from Stranger Things, David Harbour, and Ray Winstone, who fans have theorized to portray one of the menacing overseers of the Red Room.
As reported by Digital Spy, while American Marvel fans have to wait until Nov. 6, 2020 to see the movie, fans in the UK will get to see it a week earlier on October 28. Even though Marvel movies tend to come out earlier in the UK, I'm still jealous! Much like the rest of the MCU fandom, I'm eager to see Natasha kicking butt again after her tragic death in Avengers: Endgame.
Although the film looks to be just as action packed as previous Marvel films, Pugh told Digital Spy that her biggest insecurity about playing her character Yelena was nailing the character's voice. "I was scared because my Russian accent was going to be out there and I didn't know what it sounded like," she said. "I'm also playing a character who no-one's seen before but they've read about her. I didn't know whether people were going to hate me!"
Much like other actors joining the MCU, Pugh was nervous at first to have a part in the franchise. "When you think of Marvel, it's big and daunting. Especially being a relatively small actor to look at it and go, 'Oh! I'm going to be a part of this', that's a big decision," she said.
No spoilers, UK fans!
