'Captain Marvel' Star Brie Larson Reveals She Auditioned for 'Star Wars' and Other Major Franchises
It's official: Brie Larson is officially a YouTuber! While the award-winning actress is best known for playing superhero Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studios' first female-led film, she is also an outspoken activist. In her first video, Larson vowed to make her channel a place for "deep conversations, anti-racist rhetoric [and] inclusive content," while also providing viewers with some more light-hearted moments.
"I'm a white woman with privilege and a platform, so it doesn't make sense to make it about me the whole time," she explained. It seems like Larson wants to curate mindful, intersectional, and fun content! The first video on her channel featured a really interesting Q&A with a number of popular YouTube creators, discussing topics like Larson's love of gardening and how her role as Captain Marvel changed her. As reported by ComicBook.com, she also revealed other big budget franchises that she auditioned for.
"I auditioned for Star Wars too ... I auditioned for Hunger Games, I auditioned for the Terminator reboot. I actually was thinking about the Terminator reboot today because I got a flat tire and I was like, ‘Oh the last time I got a flat tire was when I was driving into my audition for Terminator. Got a flat tire at the audition, and then didn’t get the job," she explained.
Even though I think Larson was the perfect actress to play Carol Danvers in the MCU, it definitely would have been interesting to see her play a character in a galaxy far, far, away! I can't wait to see what else her YouTube channel has in store!
