Brie Larson Recalls Filming 'Avengers: Endgame' Before 'Captain Marvel'
By Hannah Wigandt
In an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Brie Larson revealed that she actually filmed Avengers: Endgame before she filmed her blockbuster hit, Captain Marvel, which brought in more than a billion dollars at the box office. Seems about right considering all the crazy things Marvel does in order to keep the secrecy when filming.
Captain Marvel didn't even have a script, yet Larson was shipped out to start filming for Endgame, and was expected to act in a movie where she had no clue about her character.
"So how does that work? How do you get into character?" Fallon asked. "It doesn't but we figured it out," Larson replied.
Apparently, when Larson first stepped on the set of Endgame, she hardly believed she was in a Marvel movie. She was left virtually alone on set and was in the dark about the context of her scenes, such as who was in them and who she was talking to. The only thing she knew were her lines, and that was about it.
"I arrived and they gave me a piece of paper. It was a full page of dialogue in action, but all of it was redacted except for my one line," Larson recalled of her first day on set. "And I even went to hair and makeup and was like, 'Who else is here?' and they were like 'We don't know,' and I was like, 'Really, they're not allowed to tell me either?' So it wasn't until I walked on set that I was like, [makes a surprised face] 'Oh crap. I'm like in a Marvel movie right now.' And then I couldn't talk about it."
It's no surprise that the cast of Endgame has been just as much in the dark as we have, but after tomorrow the secrets in the film will all be revealed when it finally hits theaters.
