Brie Larson Still Wants to Do an All-Female Avengers Movie
By Olivia Montine
Brie Larson’s run as Captain Marvel has been wildly successful so far--and the star’s time within the Marvel Cinematic Universe is just beginning.
Larson’s starring role in both her character’s solo movie and in the new Avengers: Endgame which was released this past weekend have proven that female superheroes deserve more than just a supporting role. And Larson wants to give the women of the MCU their very own movie, something she’s expressed in the past.
"I'm still really into this idea of an all-female Avengers movie," the 29-year-old actress said in an interview with CNET. "Getting all the women together and getting them to work as a team ... would be so powerful and iconic."
Larson further explained:
"Just because having just seen Avengers: Endgame, getting to see all of those characters on screen, you realize the beauty of these new superhero movies is that everybody has their own special skills they bring to the table...Their own, you know, superpower. And to see women work together, and in that way as a team, is not something we've seen enough of on screen."
We can’t lie--we also are hoping to see an all-female Avengers movie. But as Larson herself previously said when she explained she wasn’t “let into those top-secret meetings,” we don’t know what the future holds for the MCU.
