Cardi B was a vision in a black velvet dress at the red carpet roll-out for the American Music Awards in LA on Friday, making sure the red carpet is all good and set for her debut as host of the show on Sunday, Nov. 21 at the Microsoft Theater in LA.

The 29-year-old rapper tried out the red carpet ahead of the event on Sunday, posing in a super glamorous black crystal-embellished velvet gown, which had a sexy thigh-high slit running on one side - allowing the Like That singer to show off her cute peep-toe heels with a diamond ankle chain.

The highly-anticipated award show is taking place live at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday.

Cardi B is taking on a new role as host of the award show making her only the second female rapper in history to do so behind Queen Latifah in 1995.
