News about any of the live-action Star Wars shows from streaming platform Disney+ just gets more and more intriguing. From the reported casting of Rosario Dawson as Anakin Skywalker's apprentice Ahsoka Tano in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, to Ewan McGregor being slated to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in his own spinoff, I am counting the days for new Star Wars content. Something in particular that I'm excited to see is the Cassian Andor series, which will see Diego Luna reprise his role from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story for an as-yet-untitled live-action drama.

Stellan Skarsgård and Kyle Soller are set to join the cast of the show, though there's no word yet on who they might play. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, further additions to the cast include Denise Gough and Genevieve O'Reilly, the latter of whom will return as Mon Mothma, the politician who worked to oppose the Empire. No word on who Gough will portray. Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One, will be serving as showrunner for the series.

Catch up on the Star Wars franchise, along with tons of other fun titles, with a Disney+ subscription here.

I know there is a tenuous hierarchy in the Star Wars fandom over which film in the franchise is the best, but I really enjoyed Rogue One. Not only were the characters compelling, but their arcs were sincere and moved the story forward in an exciting way. The Battle of Scarif was incredibly well done and the film really put the struggles of the Rebellion into perspective. Cassian Andor was a great character, so I think I speak for many when I say I'm excited to see Luna bring some more backstory to the Rebel spy.

There is no premiere date yet for the series, but you can always rewatch Rogue One until more is revealed. May the force be with you!
