Meet the cast of Hulu's How I Met Your Father!

On Thursday, Hulu released fun polaroid snapshots introducing the main cast of the revival of the iconic How I Met Your Father series, with a little bit of background information about each character. The new series will follow unlucky-in-love, "aspiring photographer" Sophie (Hilary Duff) as she tells her story in the future to her children of how she met their father.

Starring alongside Hillary Duff is Francia Raisa as Valentina, Tom Ainsley as Charlie, Tien Tran as Ellen, Suraj Sharma as Sid, and Christopher Lowell as Jesse. Kim Catrall also portrays future Sophie in the story and acts as narrator. Below are some facts about each character, get to know the main crew of HIMYF better before its Jan-18 2022 release!

Hilary Duff as Sophie

  • Sophie is an "aspiring photographer"
  • Despite the lack of success in her love life, Sophie is "not giving up on finding love"
  • As with the original HIMYM series, Sophie lives in New York in an apartment with her best friend Valentina

Francia Raisa as Valentina

  • Valentina is an "up-and-coming celebrity stylist."
  • Valentina is the feisty Latina who is "Sophie's ride or die."
  • While her BFF is looking for her forever love, Valentina is the complete opposite, in fact, she's "not great at monogamy."

Christopher Lowell as Jesse

  • While Jesse dreams to be a full-time "musician" he still has to pay the bills somehow, so he works for Uber as a driver.
  • Jesse lives in New York with his BFF Sid!
  • Jesse is going through some heartache after his marriage failed and his "proposal went viral"

Suraj Sharma as Sid

  • Sid just bought a bar, and best believe it, the crew will be hanging out there for sure!
  • While he's in New York he maintains a "long distance relationship with his fiancée"
  • He's "roommates with Jesse"

Tien Tran as Ellen

  • Ellen is Jesse's sister!
  • She moved to the big city from a small town.
  • Ellen is "newly single and ready to mingle."

Tom Ainsley as Charlie,

  • Charlie is a "British Aristocrat", well .. he was, that is.
  • A former "socialite" and "newly poor".
  • Moved to the New York to be with Valentina.
