Here's Where Charlie Cox Stands on the Possibility of 'Daredevil' Season 4
Charlie Cox had viewers on the edge of their seats with his action-packed performance in Daredevil, and for many, three seasons wasn't enough. The Netflix show ultimately got cancelled in Nov. 2018, but with the launch of Disney+, fans were hopeful for a possible revival of the Marvel series on the new streaming service. Now, the Matt Murdock actor is speaking out on the possibility, sharing his thoughts with ComicBook.com in a recent interview.
According to the star, fans sadly shouldn't hold their breath. "I don’t feel that way, no,” Cox said when asked if he thinks the Emmy nominated show could return. "And, I don’t know why I don’t feel that way." He went on to explain his reasoning, saying, "I haven’t been given any reason to believe that. And, from a cynical point of view, it just feels like maybe I’m trying to protect myself, because I’d love nothing more than to do it again.”
While Cox would love nothing more than to give fans a fourth season, he admitted it would also be difficult to pull the cast back together due to their demanding schedules. “When you make a television show, it’s so complicated, and people’s schedules are so difficult, and contracts are so difficult. So that’s why when, as an actor, when you sign onto a TV show, you sign six years of your life away," he explained.
That being said, Cox is still holding out hope for a reunion in some capacity. "You know, maybe it would just be one of those things where it just comes together and works really, really well," the actor said. We sure would love that.
