Chris Evans Calls His Last Day of 'Avengers: Endgame' Filming 'Surprisingly Emotional'

Marvel Studios chose wisely when they named Avengers: Endgame. Many things are ending, as not only will the highly-anticipated movie conclude Phase 3 for the MCU, but will also end a decade relationship fans have had with its characters. So while the timer ticks down to April 26, we can't help but feel excited, yet sad to see the saga's last curtain fall.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, it's very probable that this will be the last movie in which fans will get to see Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor battle it out. And this belief makes Chris Evans' recent comments about his last days playing Steve Rogers in the upcoming film all the more emotional.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Evans was asked about some of his favorite memories on the set of Endgame, to which he recalled: "Getting emotional on the last day of filming. It was surprisingly emotional."

Not only are fans getting choked up about the possible exit of one of their favorite characters, but so is the man who's played him for almost the past decade. Even though we don't know if Captain America will be making an appearance once Phase 4 starts, the end of Phase 3 is still reason enough for the actor to feel this way.

But while it's sad that this will be an end to an epic era, Evans didn't reflect too much on that, instead he moved on to talk about his favorite scene as the superhero, which comes from Captain America: Winter Soldier.

"I'm partial to that fight scene in the elevator," Evans said. "That was the first scene in the second Captain America movie. It was my first time working with the Russos. It was the first time where it felt like Cap was on his own. The first cap movie, you really feel like everyone was holding my hand. The first Avengers movie I just did my best not to get in the way. The second Cap movie is the one where I really felt, I suppose pressure, and that first elevator fight scene came out really great in my opinion."

Fans will finally find out the fate of Captain America in Avengers: Endgame on April 26.
