Chris Hemsworth's 'Fat Thor' in 'Avengers: Endgame' Gets Official Name
By Ryan Carroll

One of Avengers: Endgame’s major highlights was being able to see what transpires after the film’s five-year time jump, which offered insight into what would become of the Avengers if they hung up their superhero identities. One of the most interesting developments came from the Thor (Chris Hemsworth), who, following his defeat in Infinity War, fell into a depression and became what fans called “Fat Thor”--and it was revealed this week that the version of the character has gained an official moniker.
According to ComicBook.com, an announcement for Avengers: Endgame’s special features labels the character “Bro Thor,” and carries the description: "His appearance has changed but his heroism remains! Go behind the scenes to see how Bro Thor was created."
The name is fitting of Thor’s mental state as well as his physical, reflecting the fact that, in addition to gaining weight, the character also engaged in heavy alcohol consumption and frequently played Fortnite with his companions.
At the end of Endgame, Thor departs from Earth to join up with the Guardians of the Galaxy--though, as of yet, it is unclear whether or not Hemsworth will portray Thor in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Hemsworth has been very open about his desire to play Thor again. In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April, the Australian actor admitted of playing the Asgardian, "Me personally, it’s the best fun I’ve ever had. And I’d be happy to do more if they wanted me. More than happy."
We’re excited to see whether or not Hemsworth makes an appearance in Guardians 3--and we’re tremendously glad that Bro Thor has finally been christened.
