Chris Hemsworth Calls 'Thor: Love and Thunder' Script One of the Best He's Read 'In Years'
The next installment of the Thor series, Thor: Love and Thunder, is not due for release until Feb. 18, 2022, but that won't stop fans from excitedly speculating on what will happen in the film. The movie will see Chris Hemsworth reprise his role as the God of Thunder, along with returning cast members Natalie Portman, who will be coming back as astrophysicist Jane Foster (a.k.a. the new Thor!), Tessa Thompson, who plays Valkyrie, the newly appointed leader of Asgard, and thankfully, Taika Waititi will return as both director and the humorous rock-being Korg. Christian Bale will also have a role in the film, but his character has not yet been revealed.
In a recent livestream, Waititi revealed Korg's larva-like alien friend Miek will receive a new suit of body armor, and the upcoming film will also include ruthless space sharks, known in Marvel Comics as Starsharks. Basically, fans have a slew of amazing new characters and concepts to look forward to when the movie is finally released. Sounds amazing, right? Well, Hemsworth says it truly will be.
In a recent interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer, Hemsworth said that Thor: Love and Thunder has "one of the best scripts [he's] read in years," saying that the movie is "Taika at his most extreme, and at his best.” How exciting!

Hemsworth added, “If the version I read is the one we get running with, it’s going to be pretty insane.” Maybe the movie will even have hints or clues as to what might happen in the Loki series coming to Disney+, which will focus on the God of Mischief's life as an "unlikely influencer on historical events." Looks like Marvel fans will just have to wait and see what the citizens of Asgard have in store for us next!
