Christian Bale Reportedly in Talks to Join Cast of 'Thor: Love and Thunder'
It has been eight years since Christian Bale hung up Batman's cape from The Dark Knight trilogy, but now it seems he might be replacing his old superhero for something with a little more voltage.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Big Short actor is in talks to join the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder. The Taika Waititi-directed film will star Natalie Portman as the first female Thor in her revived role of Jane Foster. Chris Hemsworth will also reprise his role as the God of Thunder, and will be joined by his faithful friend, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie.
At the point, it is unclear what role Bale would take on in the movie. With so many of the “good guys” already cast, fans are wondering if he is looking to play a more wicked character. Though it would be slightly strange to see Bruce Wayne turn into a villain, if you have seen American Psycho, you know Bale has the chops for it.
Since his groundbreaking performance as the Caped Crusader in Christopher Nolan’s films, the 45-year-old actor has stayed away from big franchises, but this doesn’t mean he hasn’t been busy. Last year, he won a Golden Globe for his role in Vice, and was nominated for various awards for his 2014 role in American Hustle.
We hope to see Bale in Thor: Love and Thunder, coming to theaters Nov. 5, 2021.
