'Cursed' Release Date, Cast, Plot: Everything to Know About the New Netflix Show
By Lillian Marx
Cursed is a classic tale reimagined for a modern audience. The Netflix series tells the Arthurian legend of Excalibur, only this time King Arthur takes a backseat. Instead, you’ll find a feminist reimagining that’s already being compared to Game of Thrones and The Hunger Games.
Here’s what you need to know about the new series.
Cursed Release Date
You can watch the first 10 episodes of Cursed July 17 on Netflix.
Cursed Cast
Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why, Knives Out) stars as Nimue, and Devon Terrell will play Arthur. Other cast members include Daniel Sherman, Sebastian Armesto, Lily Newmark, Gustaf Skarsgård (of the Skarsgårds), Peter Mullen, Bella Dayne, Shalom Brune-Franklin and Clive Russell.
Cursed Plot
The show is based off of the YA graphic novel by Tom Wheeler and Frank Miller. It’s a version of the legend of King Arthur, this time with a female protagonist: Katherine Langford plays Nimue, destined to become the Lady of the Lake. Nimue is out to save her people (the Fae) and claim Camelot. In the original legend, the Lady of the Lake gives King Arthur the sword Excalibur; in this version, Nimue wields the weapon herself.
