Rumor Has it Daryl From 'The Walking Dead' Might Be Getting His Own Movie
The world might have a lot more of Daryl Dixon in the future! According to a report from Forbes, The Walking Dead character is rumored to be getting plenty more screen time in the form of his own movie.
Norman Reedus has portrayed the fan-favorite character in the AMC horror series since its debut in 2010, but it's possible that he might be branching out to a full-feature film as well. The rumor originally comes from We Got This Covered, who reports that, "Daryl’s standalone film will presumably take place after either season 11 or 12," and will see him "searching for former series protagonist Rick Grimes."
Additionally, the reports claims the new flick would supposedly throw in flashbacks from TWD, and featuring scenes with Daryl's brother Merle, who died in Season 3. The movie reportedly is not officially greenlit yet, but there’s "plenty of reason to assume it’s going to happen."
If this rumor does turn out true, don't worry about Reedus' other commitments, as it doesn't mean he's leaving TWD. The actor has said in the past that he's sticking with the show until the very end. “I don’t want to go anywhere. I’ll burn down that whole studio if they got rid of me,” he told Entertainment Tonight in April 2019. “I always said I wanted to just walk off into the sunset with a dog, but now so many people are doing that, that I don’t know. I don’t know how I’d want to die. I don’t want to die ever."
We'll keep our eyes out for any further information about this report!
