David Eason Creates Controversy After He Posts About Texas Church Shooting
It is no secret by now that former Teen Mom 2 dad and estranged husband to Jenelle Evans, David Eason, is a gun enthusiast, but in the midst of the rampant gun violence and shootings happening around the country, many were quick to debate with him after he posted a controversial message this week.
On Sunday, Dec. 29, a shooter opened fire on the congregation of West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas, but was swiftly shot by a church member who was carrying a firearm. The heartbreaking incident left two people dead and one injured.
PopCulture.com reports that Eason was quick to show his appreciation of the armed congregation member on his Facebook account, posting an article on OffGridSurvival.com titled, “Church Mass Shooting in Texas Stopped by Good Guy with Gun.” The former reality star captioned the post, “Imagine how much faster they would have taken him out if there was more people armed!!”
Some followers sided with the pipe welder. One user posted, “Exactly..so true!!! Most of these are false flag bs stories to scare the public into banning guns...but if this was true, im [sic] glad the good guy with the [gun] shut it down.” Another wrote, “For once your [sic] right!”
However, many were quick to drag Eason, especially because of his own history with gun violence, including shooting and killing their family dog, Nugget, earlier this year. One angry follower on Twitter posted a screenshot of an article published by the BBC titled, “US saw highest number of mass killings on record in 2019, database reveals.” Another wrote, "Does anyone really care what comes out of his mouth![?]”
We send our deepest condolences to the victims of this tragedy.
