David Eason Faces Jail Time Over Child Support Amid Dog Killing Incident
By Kwadar Ray
Former Teen Mom 2 star David Eason's antics are catching up with him. Major controversy ensued when reports came out that Eason shot and killed his wife Jenelle Evans' dog, Nugget, for nipping at their daughter Ensley's face.
The attack, which didn't draw any blood or puncture Ensley's face, led to David allegedly repeatedly slamming the dog on the home's back deck and eventually shooting Nugget in a wooded area.
Social media has been ablaze with calls for Eason to be jailed for the killing. TMZ reported that North Carolina's animal welfare hotline was flooded with calls about the incident and the Attorney General's Office received nearly 140 complaints. The publication also reported that the Columbus County Sheriff's Office and Columbus County Animal Control is investigating Eason for animal cruelty.
If authorities find Eason's actions to be egregious enough, jail time is a possibility. But even if he does get off for the killing of the french bulldog, there's more legal challenges standing in his way.
Eason is reportedly behind on his child support payments for ex-girlfriend Olivia Leedham, who Eason had a son with in 2013. Leedham is also accusing Eason of shoving her when she was eight months pregnant, and leaving her in the middle of the road at night when she was seven months pregnant.
The two have been in a custody battle for years and Eason has fallen thousands of dollars behind in child support, according to TMZ. His deadline for paying it is today and if he doesn't provide the money, he can face jail time.
Eason has a long history of controversy and abuse allegations, so these incidents aren't that surprising, but still saddening nonetheless. We hope his children and Jenelle have been safe during this wild week.
