Season 4 of Stranger Things might not be heading our way anytime soon, but that hasn't stopped the Netflix show's cast and crew from hyping us up about it.

Production on the upcoming season was put on hold, like many other projects in America, because of safety concerns surrounding COVID-19. And while they don't have a resume date confirmed yet, a few of key people have spilled teases on what we can expect. Steve Harrington actor Joe Keery revealed in April that Season 4 is "a lot scarier" than what we've seen so far, and more recently, creators Matt and Ross Duffer said there will be some "cool" guest stars to come. Can we get this new season already?! A girl is impatient.

And now, to make us want Season 4 even more, Jim Hopper actor David Harbour is here to share some more details. As reported by E! News, the Golden Globe nominee spoke with Deadline, sharing what he could regarding what's next for his character who we were all led to believe was dead.

"Hopper is the American in that Russian prison, and to me, what happens in this season—first of all it's very epic and very big in a Stranger Things way," Harbour dished. "There's monsters, there's horrors, there's scares, there's also like great Indiana Jones-type action, but also we get to see some of Hopper's really deep backstory that we've hinted at with the boxes in season two, and I'm really excited to let people see these really deep colors in him. Each season we see a different side of him, and last season he was sort of wacky...now I think he's painted in a bit of a darker palette and he's able to express some of these really deep things in him, which we haven't really known yet. It's been hinted at, but we don't really know."

Harbour had previously revealed that we'd be getting Hopper's backstory next season, so it seems pretty obvious that things will have to take a darker turn for him once we see everything he's endured, plus all he's going through in the Russian prison. As thrilling as this sounds, we're hoping it's not all tears and hardships for our favorite Chief of Police—he better reunite with Eleven and Joyce eventually, too.
