Dog Who Played Bran Stark’s Direwolf in 'Game of Thrones' Passes Away at Age 10

Sad news for Game of Thrones fans.
The beloved dog who played Bran Stark’s direwolf in the HBO fantasy series has passed away, reports NY Daily News. Odin, who memorably appeared in the 2011 pilot as Summer, died Thursday at his home in Northern Ireland at the age of 10. He'd been battling cancer for months.
As noted by the publication, the public had raised around $15,000 prior to his passing in an effort to fund the dog's medical treatment. Odin's owner expressed the family's grief with a heartfelt message on social media, saying, “Our family are at immense heartbreak to announce that Odin passed away early this morning. It’s difficult to put into words how this has impacted us as a family for Odin led a life like no other dog," the owner continued, “Odin’s passing marks the end of a decade and the end of an era as he taught our friends and family a lot of lessons about life ... he has more stories to tell than some people would."
Odin's memory will not only live on with family, but in the hearts of GoT fans. And with nearly all of us self-quarantining, there's no time like the present for fans to go back to the beginning and pay their respects. Rest in peace.
