Donald Trump Dragged on Twitter for Stealing Credit From Kim Kardashian for the Release of Alice Johnson
Donald Trump is back in the doghouse for taking credit for a job he just simply did not do. People reports that he aired presidential re-election ads during the Super Bowl that featured Alice Marie Johnson. Johnson was a non-violent criminal serving a life sentence until Kim Kardashian worked tirelessly, using her platform and resources, to help get her case into the White House. Trump eventually signed the clemency order, granting the great-grandmother her freedom.
However, Trump's team painted a different picture in the advert. “Alice Johnson was sentenced to serve life in prison for a nonviolent drug offense,” the narrator dramatically read, adding, “Thanks to President Trump people like Alice are getting a second chance. Politicians talk about criminal justice reform. President Trump got it done. Thousands of families are being reunited.”
The Apprentice host also tweeted the video along with the caption, “I promised to restore hope in America. That includes the least among us. Together, let’s KEEP AMERICA GREAT!”
As expected, Twitter did not take kindly to the fact that the President stole all the credit for releasing Johnson, or that he is equating granting clemency to a few prisoners to true prison reform. “That Trump commercial has me shook,” one user wrote. “If it weren’t for @KimKardashian Alice Marie Johnson would still be behind bars. Please let it be clear that Trump is deliberately separating families, not reuniting them.”
Another posted, “I am not here for this BS Trump ad taking credit for @KimKardashian work with Alice Marie Johnson. Yes he had the final say but it was all thanks to Kim.”
Twitter is here to remind Trump that he needs to give credit where credit is due, and in this case, it is for Kim Kardashian and her team.
