Elizabeth Hurley Says She's 'Thrilled' to Join Marvel's 'Runaways'
By Ryan Carroll

Marvel is expanding on multiple fronts, not only shifting the bedrock of the MCU with Avengers: Endgame but also fleshing out the corners of the world in TV series, including the upcoming Disney+ series WandaVision and The Falcon and Winter Soldier. Recently, Marvel took another step to build up the universe in its Hulu series Runaways by casting veteran actress Elizabeth Hurley as Morgan Le Fay.
“Thrilled to be joining the Marvel Universe to play Morgan [Le] Fey, an iconic @marvel villain and the greatest sorceress of all time, in @marvelsrunaways,” Hurley wrote in a caption on Instagram this week. “Can’t wait to start.”
Jeff Loeb, the head of Marvel Television, added in a separate press release that “Elizabeth Hurley is joining the Marvel Universe and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her portraying one of the most enchanting Marvel characters” (via ComicBook.com).
Hurley, known for her role in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and more recently The Royals, joins Nip/Tuck alum Julian McMahon as the latest high profile edition to the Marvel series. Le Fay and McMahon’s character, Jonah, are antagonists to the titular team of teen superheroes.

In the original comics, Le Fay appeared as a villain to the Avengers, Spider-Woman, and the Black Knight--though she did not appear in the original Runaways series by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona. This likely means that the Hulu series will incorporate Le Fay alongside its existing mystical elements.
Regardless, we’re excited to see someone of Hurley’s caliber appear in the series when Season 3 premieres. Runaways Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Hulu.
