Whether or not you enjoyed the Star Wars prequel trilogy, one thing that fans can agree on is that Ewan McGregor was awesome as a young Obi-Wan Kenobi. The actor's portrayal is so well-loved that fans are even petitioning for a statue of the character to grace the top of Scotland's tallest peak! Star Wars fans have been speculating for years that McGregor would someday reprise his role as the Jedi Master, and the actor himself finally confirmed 2019 that a series about Kenobi would be moving forward.

Although pre-production on the series was put on hold in Jan. 2020 while early scripts were overhauled and new writers for the show could be found, it has been confirmed that the series will move forward as planned. According to GamesRadar, McGregor can't wait to pick up his lightsaber and revisit the beloved character, especially because technological advancements made in the film industry will make a galaxy far, far away feel much closer to home.

“I’m just going to enjoy it all much more,” McGregor told ACE Universe. “Our technology is such that we’d shot [The Phantom Menace] on film, and [Attack of the Clones] when we got to Australia on the then-new HD cameras, which is pretty primitive compared to what we have now… It was all blue screen and green screen. It was hard to imagine it. Nowadays, things have moved on so much. A lot of what you see is going to be what we see.”

"When you’re on set, if you’re in a snowscape or something, when you look around you see that," McGregor continued. "It makes you feel like you’re in the place. It’s going to feel realer for us, for the actors. I think we’ll be using some of that technology on our show."

If you’re hoping for the Scottish actor to reveal some plot details, you’re out of luck. McGregor isn’t spilling the beans! “I do know what it’s going to be about, but I’m not going to tell you,” he told the outlet. Spoilers or no spoilers, I can't wait to see McGregor revisit the role of Obi-Wan!
