Farrah Abraham Says Daughter Sophia is in Therapy Over Father's Passing and Online Bullying
Former Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham has often been dragged for her mothering skills with her 10-year-old daughter, Sophia, but she wants fans to know that, when it comes to her daughter’s mental health, she is doing all she can to support her.
E! News reports that the 28-year-old reality TV star stopped by Heather McDonald's Juicy Scoop podcast this week and revealed that Sophia is currently in therapy. Abraham explained, “We do a lot of family therapy because of her not having her father and also being in the public eye.”
As you remember, Sophia’s dad, Derek Underwood, tragically died in a car accident when Abraham was pregnant. His absence, along with online bullying, is why Abraham wanted her little girl in counseling, according to the star.
Abraham added, “She gets so much hate for being online schooled or homeschooled.” Sophia, who currently has 738, 000 followers on Instagram, apparently receives criticism for many things, including her choice to do her education at home. Despite the bullying, Abraham said that Sophia is staying strong, and isn’t afraid to clap back at her haters, with the support of her mom, of course. “Whatever works for Sophia for making her feel strong, that's what I'm about,” Abraham stated.
We are glad Sophia is getting the help she needs.
