Marvel's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever began filming again months after an injury to star Letitia Wright slowed down production.

The 28-year-old actress plays Shuri in the film series and was injured back in August 2021. The Black Panther 2 team filmed as much as they could without the star but had to shut down in late November of last year.

Her agent told The Hollywood Reporter that she always planned on returning to the production even though COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for all people on-set. Letitia Wright previously made comments that many interpreted as anti-vaccination against the virus, which has killed over 5.5 million people.

Last December, the Black Mirror actress shared a link to a YouTube video that questioned whether or not people should get vaccinated.

"If you don’t conform to popular opinion. but ask questions and think for yourself….you get canceled," she wrote on Twitter.

After receiving backlash for her tweet, she responded, “You have every right to ask questions about what goes into your body and to ask questions until you feel ready.”
