Fern Britton Pays Tribute to Her Famous Father Who Has Passed Away Aged 95
TV presenter Fern Britton took to social media yesterday to share some heartbreaking news.
The 62-year-old personality is mourning the loss of her father, Tony Britton, who passed away this past weekend at the age of 95. While sharing a sweet photo of her dad outside with a walking stick, Fern wrote, "Our father, Tony Britton, died early this morning. Great actor, director and charmer. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
Fans of the late actor will remember Tony from 1973's The Day of the Jackal, 1975's The Nearly Man, and more. His last acting gig came in 2012 with his role in the comedy Run for Your Wife.
Many people took to Fern's replies section to send their condolences and support. One wrote, "Profound condolences Fern and gratitude for the joy and entertainment your dad brought to me and millions of others. Sending love and strength x." Another said, "He was a fine and greatly loved actor. So sorry for your loss [heart emoji]."
Fern's mother, Ruth, passed away in April of 2018.
Rest in peace, Tony Britton. We'll be keeping Fern and her family in our thoughts.
