First Picture of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's Baby Has Fans Freaking Out Over His Safety
Kim Kardashian and her husband, Kanye West, welcomed their fourth child into the world on May 9, a boy named Psalm. Kim posted on Instagram a screenshot from Kanye on Mother's Day, revealing their newborn in a crib surrounded by blankets, padding and cushions.
The issue that's concerning fans, according to Us Weekly, is the risk of SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, where an otherwise healthy baby dies in its sleep. The chance of this heightens when the crib is full of objects which could cause potential suffocation.
One Twitter user wrote: “Please please please go pay an overpriced ‘sleep consultant’ to get all that unnecessary padding, bumpers, and blankets out of your child’s crib so they are not at risk for SIDS. I’ve tried and failed to
resuscitate too many children that have died this way. Signed, an ER doctor.”
Another wrote: “1. Congrats! 2. Anyone else freaking out about all the blankets & bumpers?! American Academy of Pediatrics recommends keeping the crib free of blankets & pillows until baby is 12 months old, as these can create a suffocation hazard. @kanyewest Just looking out for a fellow dad.”
Kim has received multiple replies such as these above, but hasn't responded to the worry. Despite any possible safety concern, however, fans and the Kardashian-West-Jenner crew are all super excited to welcome Psalm West into the world.
