Fans are finally getting a little taste of the new Wonder Woman film, Wonder Woman 1984, but the movie series isn’t spilling much.

The first teaser poster, according to CBR, was seen on June 3 at the 2019 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, NV. The image shows Wonder Woman, played by 34-year-old Gal Gadot, looking classically Diana Prince: crouched and stoic. Behind her is “WW84,” written in an iconic 1980s font.

The film’s returning director and co-writer, Patty Jenkins, told Deadline’s Crew Call Podcast that there is a very specific reason for choosing 1984 as the setting for the new film. She explains that 1984 was “the pinnacle of the success in the ‘80s, in [her] opinion, because it’s before the market started to get a little more struggling as the ‘80s went on. And it was like the top of the top. It was such an incredible time.”

The first film, Wonder Woman, was released June of 2017, and broke many box office records, making roughly $821 million. This origin story film follows a young Diana Prince in 1918 as she embarks on an adventure with American pilot and spy, Steve Trevor, to kill Ares, the God of War.

Wonder Woman 1984, set to premiere June 5, 2020, will be taking a vastly different approach, at a vastly different time in history. CBR reports that, although the movie appears to be a sequel to Jenkins' first film, Charles Roven, the film’s producer, stated that the film is actually meant to be "the next iteration of Wonder Woman."

The next iteration will still include Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, but will also add Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal, and Natasha Rothwell.
