'Friends' Co-Creator Marta Kauffman Reveals the Expected Month the Reunion Will Be Filmed
Although filming for the highly-anticipated Friends reunion special was put on hold due to coronavirus safety concerns, it was announced last month that executives at WarnerMedia Entertainment were hopeful it would be filmed by the end of summer. And now, Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman has a clearer update for fans of the iconic sitcom.
As reported by Us Weekly, Kauffman spoke about progress on reunion special with The Wrap, where she reaffirmed previous statements that production on the special, which is set to film on the original Friends soundstage on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, CA, will likely proceed before the summer is over.
“We are hoping to be able to shoot in August, if all is well and there is no early second wave and the studio is open,” Kauffman said of the reunion, which will include original cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc. “If everything is in place and we understand all the protocols and we can still make a good show, we’ll be shooting it some time, mid-to-late August,” she added.
Phoebe Buffay actress Lisa Kudrow recently revealed that the reunion special would include some surprise content for longtime fans of the series. Whenever the reunion happens, I'm sure it will be worth the wait!
