'Game of Thrones' Cast Reveal Who They'd Want Their Characters to Hook Up With

There have been some pretty crazy relationships on Game of Thrones—where incest is heavily explored, boy kings marry older women, and star-crossed lovers are not uncommon. But despite who the characters end up with in the last season, the cast behind the HBO series have weighed in on who they would want their characters to hook up with. And just like the show, their answers are not what we expected.

When asked by USA Today who they'd ship their characters with, Gwendoline Christie said she's love to see Brienne of Tarth end up with Daenerys. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, seemed disappointed his answer was taken, stating, Well I can’t say that now, can I? Cersei. We’ll stay in the family."

Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, who are best friends in real life as well as playing the powerful Stark sisters, both picked each other as romantic partners, or themselves. “There’s nothing wrong with a self-love,” Williams said.

Carice van Houten, who plays Melisandre, said she would pick Cersei for a long steamy affair, and Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth, very surprisingly chose Varys. “I was thinking Varys!” he said. “I think me and Varys would get on. I’d do the cooking. Steamy, same as yourself. Why not? What’s wrong with that?”

Kristofer Hivju picked two unlikely characters for him, saying, “Tormund and the Hound, Khal Drogo. I think that would be a great scene.”

Richard Dormer, who plays Beric Dondarrion, said he'd like to see a romance with Cersei, however he thinks that would probably end up in Cersei poisoning him after it was over.

While Jacob Anderson, or Grey Worm, said he'd like to see his character end up with Gendry, Joe Dempsie, who plays Gendry, said he'd like to end up with the Hound.

But Conleth Hill, the actor behind Varys, and Isaac Hempstead-Wright, the star behind Bran Stark, both agreed that their characters would best be "lone wolves."

Despite the unexpected relationships we've seen in Thrones, the cast has just made things even stranger with their choices. Let's hope they never come true, simply because that would be an incredibly distracting final season.
