'Game of Thrones' Actor Kristofer Hivju Updates Fans That He's 'Fully Recovered' From Coronavirus
All is right again in the North.
Game of Thrones alum Kristofer Hivju, who played the lovable Tormund Giantsbane in the HBO hit, shocked fans last month when he revealed that he had contracted coronavirus. Staying true to his positive self, the actor shared the news on Instagram with an encouraging caption, assuring everyone that he and his wife, Gry Molvær Hivju, were "in good health." Well, thankfully just weeks later, the Norwegian star has recovered.
As reported by E! News, the 41-year-old father-of-two took to social media again this week to update his followers, writing, "Hi! We are fully recovered and in good health after I was infected by the Cororonavirus [sic], and most likely my wife @grymolvaerhivju." The post shows a cute selfie with him and his lady, which you can see below.
"After several weeks inn quarantine, and also a couple more indoors after beeing [sic] free of all symptoms, we are finally safe and sound," Hivju explained. "We were lucky to only have mild symptoms of the [COVID-19]. We send our love and thoughts to all of the people where the virus has hit much harder, and to everyone who has lost their loved ones due to the Cornonavirus [sic]."
Of course, much like with his original post sharing his diagnosis, Hivju's fans flooded his comments section with words of support and love. "That’s wonderful news!," one wrote, while another offered, "Happy about you and your wife! Stay healthy and be happy!"
I think we speak for everyone—Game of Thrones fan or not—when we say we're extremely happy to hear of Hivju and his wife's recovery. We look forward to seeing more positive updates on the actor's social media page, as well as to hear how his family is making the best of their time while social distancing.
