'Game of Thrones' Star Kristofer Hivju Shares He's Tested Positive for Coronavirus
Distressing news comes from our favorite Wildling, as Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju has announced that he's tested positive for Coronavirus. The 41-year-old star took to Instagram this afternoon to share his unfortunate results with fans.
Posing for a selfie with his wife, Gry Molvær Hivju, the Norwegian actor alerted his followers, "Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My familiy [sic] and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes." He was quick to assure everyone that, "We are in good health - I only have mild symptoms of a cold," before reminding people to keep safe and clean amid this crisis.
As expected, Hivju's comments section on the post has been blowing up, with GoT fans writing words of support such as, "Survived the white walkers only to catch coronavirus. Get well soon [heart emoji]. [T]ormund for life," and "No! If it can take down Giantsbane, what chance do the rest of us have?! Seriously, thank you for isolating. Feel better and take care!"
Hivju marks the second major celebrity to announce they've tested positive for the disease today. Earlier, Idris Elba took to social media to share that he too has Coronavirus, explaining that he actually has no symptoms at all. "Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic," the Golden Globe winner wrote.
We're sending our love and many wishes of good health to Hivju, along with everyone else in the world affected by COVID-19. Please put your health first in this trying time.
