It's been over a year since Game of Thrones concluded, but people are still talking about the fantasy series' controversial ending. Fans were so angry by the decisions made by showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss that after the finale aired there was even a petition going around demanding that Season 8 be remade with "competent writers." Several actors have spoken up about the backlash from fans after the series' end, and the original Night King actor Richard Brake, who played the character through Season 6, has just added his opinion to the fray.

As reported by NME, Brake wished the Night King had brought more bloodshed to Westeros. “I wanted him to wipe everyone out, I was hoping for that,” he told the outlet. “But you can’t always get what you want!” However, he loved how his character's demise came about. “I love the fact that Arya killed him. That was to me one of the highlights of that season," he dished.

Brake continued, “And for the whole series, the way they developed her character from this little girl who watches her father get murdered, into this incredible assassin, who saves the world. To me that was the most genius thing of the whole series.” I definitely have to agree with Brake on this one! Arya's character development was one of the coolest parts of the show.

Brake was apparently “totally satisfied with how the Night King ended,” and he expected the backlash from fans about the final season received long before it aired. “I felt before this season that there would always be a backlash. People are always sad when something comes to an end,” he said.

Whether or not you liked the final season, the first seven seasons were undeniably great. Maybe, as time goes on, fans will come to view the series' conclusion in a different light. Meanwhile, you can read up on everything we know about the Targaryen-centric Game of Thrones prequel series here!
