'Game of Thrones' Picks Up Three SAG Award Nominations
Game of Thrones might not have done very well with Golden Globe noms (besides for Jon Snow actor Kit Harington), but they did land a few more Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
Variety reports that the HBO mega-series was nominated for three categories for the 2020 SAG Awards. Despite the reception of the divisive final season, the fantasy drama is now a contestant for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series.
In addition, Tyrion Lannister actor Peter Dinklage received a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. The 50-year-old actor is up against Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us), Steve Carell (The Morning Show), Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), and David Harbour (Stranger Things).
GoT is up against Stranger Things in every category they're nominated for, making it difficult for those of us who deeply love both fantasy series to root for a winner. How can we choose between the lovable Hand to the Queen, and the self-sacrificing police officer from Hawkins?
Good thing it that it's up to the good people of the SAG Association and not us!
