'Game of Thrones' Showrunners David Beniofff and D.B. Weiss to Make Cameos in 'Westworld' Season 3
Look out, world! Game of Thrones showrunners David Beniofff and D.B. Weiss are returning to HBO. Despite the fact that the two are usually behind the camera, the duo will be adding another acting credit to their IMDb pages. Entertainment Weekly reports they will have cameos in the upcoming third season of HBO's sci-fi western Westworld.
Reportedly, Beniofff and Weiss will play technicians at Delos, the sinister company that manufacturers android hosts in the series. The former showrunners of HBO’s now-ended epic fantasy series will appear in the second episode of Season 3. If you feel like reliving the epic disappointment and/or epic conclusion that was the Game of Thrones finale, you can actually read the script here.
Beniofff and Weiss have had their ups and downs since the ending of Game of Thrones. Fans will remember that they walked away from their much-publicized deal with Disney’s Lucasfilm, to then sign a major deal with Netflix. There was even a petition going around to ban the showrunners from producing content for the Star Wars franchise, that amassed over 16,000 signatures from fans who were less-than-impressed with their writing.
Despite the chaos, the pair has some exciting new projects coming up, including a new dramedy starring Sandra Oh. Westworld Season 3 premieres Sunday, March 15 at 9/8c on HBO.
