'Game of Thrones' Theory Explains How Bran Will Sacrifice Himself to Kill the Night King

Since the ending of Game of Thrones’ seventh season, fans have been coming up with the craziest of fan theories about the biggest and tiniest details we could potentially see in the final season, debuting nearly two years later. With so many questions to be answered, many have taken it upon themselves to see if they can figure them out. One of Season 8’s biggest conflicts will be the Night King. Will he die? And if so, how?

One Redditor could have the answer. According to user mithrndir, Bran Stark could save everyone and defeat the Night King by sacrificing himself. If Bran, who happens to be the Three-Eyed-Raven, wargs into the Ice Dragon, he could the creature to kill the Night King, but would therefore die after either being locked into, or deliberately staying in, warg-form afterwards.

Bran’s sacrifice would not only kill the Night King, but would also break the cycle of being the Three-Eyed-Raven, everyone else he’s been, and the Night King cycle. The theorist thinks this could perhaps even end the long winter cycle.

Fellow Redditors were quick to agree with the user and shared their opinion in the comments section. Many came to the conclusion that it would be cool to see Bran somehow knock the Night King off the dragon, and have him fall right into a battle with Jon Snow on the ground.

In whatever possible way this could happen, the ultimate demise of the Night King isn't the only thing we’re looking forward to seeing in the upcoming episodes. We hope all of our questions are answered when Thrones returns for its final season on April 14.
