'Teen Mom' Fans Send Support as Gary Shirley Reveals His Mom is 'Very Sick' With Coronavirus
Coronavirus has affected the day-to-day lives of people across the globe, but for Gary Shirley, the pandemic has now unfortunately hit especially close to home. The Teen Mom OG star has revealed that his mom is battling the illness, and she's "very sick" at the moment.
The reality star dropped the somber news on Mother's Day, asking for fans' prayers.
"This Mother’s Day is a little hard because my mother is very sick," said Shirley. "A week ago she was diagnosed with Covid-19. Her line of work put her at a higher risk since she was working in activities and house keeping at an assisted living facility." The dad-of-two went on to detail what life has been like adjusting to the pandemic, especially with his mom now testing positive.
"We haven’t hugged her in about 3 months & we haven’t had her over inside our home for about 3 months. This has been extremely hard for all of us," Shirley explained.
He may not have been able to celebrate Mother's Day with his mom, but the ex of Amber Portwood was sure to make a sweet gesture for her that morning. "I will be dropping off breakfast in the morning on the porch and wishing her a Happy Mother’s Day while praying for her. All prayers are welcomed and much appreciated. Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers and a BIG Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing wife," he wrote.
After spotting Shirley's message, fans sent lots of love his way. "Prayers for your Mom Gary I now it’s hard not being able to go help her!" one fan wrote, while another said, "Sending positive thoughts your family’s way!" Fellow Teen Mom star Cheyenne Floyd also chimed in with a supportive message. "Praying for you guys and a speedy recovery," she said.
In this devastating time, we're wishing everyone health and safety, and a speedy recovery to Shirley's mom.
