Attention Upper East Siders! Gossip Girl Reboot Slated for July Premiere on HBO Max

Attention Upper East Siders Gossip Girl here (Psych! - not really) to deliver you some exciting new updates for the long-awaited upcoming revival of Gossip Girl, or as known on Twitter #GossipGirl2.0.

Showrunner Joshua Safran — who is returning to the series along with original creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage - revealed on Wednesday that the highly anticipated HBO Max revival of the edgy teen drama will be released in June!

The writer broke the news to fans, by retweeting Cosmopolitan's first look at the upcoming series, and tagged the post with his own comment, which said: "Oh hi also: show drops in July."

If you haven't heard that the classic American teen drama is being revived, then where have you been?! The original Gossip Girl is getting a continuation series a whole nine years after the hit CW drama ended.

But now the show is being revived with a whole new generation of viewers in mind! According to Deadline, the reboot's synopsis reads:

"Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years."

The original series starred some of today's A-list faces, including; Age of Adaline's Blake Lively, Penn Badgley from Netflix's original chilling series You, Disney's Winter Soldier, Sebastian Stan and Amazon's The Boys' Chase Crawford, to just name a few, and aired on The CW for six seasons between September 2007 and December 2012.
