Hannah Brown Addresses Using the N-Word in New Apology Video on Instagram Live
By Rachel Reed
Bachelor Nation continues to weigh in on Hannah Brown using the N-word while on Instagram earlier this month. The response is still understandably unflattering all over social media and beyond. But now, there's another person chiming in, and what they have to say might surprise you—Hannah herself has released a video apologizing.
About two weeks after the initial scandal, and Hannah is not shying away from the latest hot water she's in (nor is she shying away from the camera). Instead, the former Bachelorette star addressed the ongoing controversy on May 30, by going back on Instagram Live to explain where she's at with everything, reports Us Weekly.
Hannah admitted that while it was an accident, it wasn't okay. She claimed she was intoxicated at the time, attempting to remember the TikTok dance moves to "Rockstar." The masses are saying that a racial slur is never okay, even if she was just reciting a song. Hannah now agrees, telling fans over Instagram that after her initial apology statement, she was ready for the heat. She prepared for the conversation and sees this as a jumping off point, "not an end."
After her period of social media silence, full of some much-needed time to reflect and read up, Hannah returned with her follow up apology video and a little more insight. Watch it below.
Reactions were mixed, but there was a definite flood of support from her fans throughout her comments section. One person summed things up, saying, "We are all human. We all mess up. It doesn’t make the mess ups okay. But YOU getting on and taking responsibility and owning your mistakes IS okay and IS the power of change. Thank you for setting the example."
