YouGov performed their annual survey of the most admired people in the world and Emma Watson jumped up to join the top five in the Most Admired Women of 2019 list. The Harry Potter star comes after Michelle Obama in first place, who is followed by Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie and Queen Elizabeth II.

According to MuggleNet, the survey spans 41 countries and asks about men and women. The Obamas are killing it this year, as not only is Michelle in first place, but Barack is in second for admired men, beat only by Bill Gates.

“We urge G7 leaders to be as brave as women and girls are every single day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We expect G7 states to urgently adopt, fully implement and fund, the most ambitious legislative frameworks on combating gender based violence against women in order to create a fair, safe and dignified world for its constituents. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This goes beyond politics, and left and right. We are simply asking member states to protect universal human rights and be the leaders we know they can be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As human beings, please do not be passive bystanders to the attacks and roll backs we see happening all around us and every day on women’s rights all across the world - be active participants in moving us forward.” ~ @g7 Gender Equality Advisory Council, Paris 2019

Watson's new ranking comes as no real surprise, since the 29-year-old actress is a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and the face of the UN's movement for gender equality, HeForShe.

Not only that, but Watson also began an online feminist book club called "Our Shared Shelf." On its GoodReads page, the description says, "As part of my work with UN Women, I have started reading as many books and essays about equality as I can get my hands on."

So yes, I'd say Watson fully deserves her high spot on this list, and I'm not just saying that because she played Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series. I promise.
